Franco Colapinto finished the Azerbaijan Grand Prix with mixed feelings. The Argentine driver acknowledged that the competition was complicated from the start, marked by a collision with Alex Albon, problems with the car, and a pace that never allowed him to fight at the front.
Early on, his crash with his former Williams teammate affected him, which not only cost him time but also left his car damaged. "I came out of the pits already with flat spots from the spin and with the front wing broken, so I had a lot of understeer after that. I lost twelve seconds against the wall and it made my life difficult," he recounted.
Meanwhile, the Argentine driver referred to the overall performance: "A very complicated race, no pace. I did the best I could, good starts, I overtook several cars. Obviously, in terms of pace we don't have the car, so it's quite simple. We wore out the tires a lot, we don't have the pace to move forward, you have to take a lot of risks to go fast."
Even so, Colapinto emphasized that his personal performance leaves him satisfied: "I think I did things quite well on my side, it's the most I can do and wait for us to improve."
