Officials from the province's Ministry of Bioagroindustry carried out the procedures

A refrigerator was shut down in Córdoba for  illegally slaughtering animals.

This took place in the town of Villa Nueva, San Martín department, where technicians from the General Directorate of Inspection and Control of the Ministry of Bioagroindustry of the province, together with personnel from the Rural Patrol South Division, carried out raids.

The operation ended with the closure of an establishment that, according to what was verified, is a repeat offender in illegal slaughtering.

Both the officers and the technicians observed that the slaughter room, cutting area, and refrigeration chambers lacked the hygienic and sanitary conditions necessary to ensure food safety.

In addition, they seized approximately 100 kg (220 pounds) of beef and confiscated items and equipment used for illegal slaughter.

The seized meat, which doesn't have the required sanitary inspections, was taken to a refrigerator for subsequent destruction in a digester.

The actions were carried out under Law No. 10,326 "Provincial Code of Coexistence," Law No. 6,974 "Slaughter, Marketing, and Industrialization of Meat," and Law No. 5542 "Brands and Marks."
