The Peace Courts of Córdoba increased their interventions in family violence cases by 69% between 2021 and 2024, according to an official survey. The report was prepared by the Center for Strategic Management and Statistics of the Judiciary, headed by Carolina Granja. The report details the evolution of the issue with data arising from actions in each jurisdiction.
The agency released a digital tool that brings together geolocated information from the 309 Peace Courts that exist in the province of Córdoba. The dashboard includes indicators of "Procedures and tasks," with data on hearings, electoral processes, family violence, and special actions. It also reflects statistics on "Misdemeanors," incorporating ongoing processes, hearings, and community service work.
In 2024, 273 courts provided information, representing 88% participation, a figure higher than the 83% reached in 2023. The percentage had been 82% in 2022 and 84% in 2021, showing a growing trend in data coverage. This progress makes it possible to have a more accurate snapshot of the work of Peace Judges throughout the province.
Peace Judges are the first point of citizen contact with the justice system in towns without ordinary courts. They handle certifications, administrative procedures, and neighborhood or family disputes, promoting agile access to the system. They also perform mediation and support functions, seeking agreements and fostering dialogue in communities.
