The city obtained the What Works Cities Silver Certification promoted by the Bloomberg Philanthropies foundation and the organization Results for America. This achievement positions the local administration among the first 100 cities in North and South America that optimize their own resources.
Mayor Federico Zárate celebrated the distinction that validates the path of modernization launched to transform the organizational culture. Jesús María officially became the smallest localityon the entire continent to reach this standard of institutional quality. The certification evaluates 8 management practices that include fiscal transparency and procurement oriented toward real, measurable results.
The program analyzes performance through 43 international criteria that guarantee the efficient use of information for decision-making. Municipalities must demonstrate leadership capacity and financial management based on concrete data in order to access the global distinction. This methodology makes it possible to allocate taxpayers' resources intelligently, avoiding waste on useless public policies.

Health efficiency and transparency
An example of this model's success is the health strategy against dengue that used a control panel to prioritize risk areas. The data analysis made it possible to focus waste collection and fumigation, achieving a 78% reduction in cases in critical areas of the city. Efficiency in resource allocation demonstrated that evidence-based management generates results that are superior to traditional politics.
Rochelle Haynes, director of What Works Cities, emphasized that these cities are an example of what is achieved with a commitment to efficiency. The executive pointed out that governments that use data drive real progress and build sustainable practices for people's future. The urban governance excellence program evaluates cities in the Americas with more than 30,000 inhabitants that seek to improve their administration. Those that meet between 51% and 67% of the requirements obtain the Silver certification, while the higher levels are Gold and Platinum. Jesús María joins the group of leaders that are committed to empirical evidence to improve quality of life while respecting local citizens.
