Córdoba: more than 100,000 users already have a SUBE card for urban transport

The new distribution infrastructure optimizes access and modernizes payment on buses and trolleybuses

A total of 105,000 residents of Córdoba have already acquired their SUBE card since its launch in the city of Córdoba. The card was distributed at eight fixed and mobile points located in strategic neighborhoods throughout the capital. The distribution strategy prioritized high-traffic areas to facilitate access without delays, according to official sources.

18 SUBE Management Units were issued with in-person service for registration and assistance. Additionally, 35 automatic terminals were installed at train stations and key locations for reloading and inquiries. The system will coexist with the previous "Red Bus" for approximately four months before fully migrating.

Payment with bank cards and cell phones is now available in Córdoba

The implementation was made possible thanks to the management of Franco Mogetta when he was in charge of the National Transportation Secretariat. "The intention is to incorporate more jurisdictions of Córdoba into the SUBE card and mainly the interurban area in its metropolitan area," the former secretary had anticipated.

Payments with contactless debit, credit, and prepaid cards, as well as mobile devices with NFC, have been enabled. During a transition period, both SUBE and banking methods will be accepted until the system is fully in effect.

With the new system, Córdoba joined 52 other localities where the national SUBE system is already operating. This allows for unified control and administration of the public transportation system throughout the country. The official objective is to facilitate traceability, reduce evasion, and optimize the allocation of subsidies.

The SUBE system also allows users to view trips and balances from the official app, providing greater transparency. Additionally, users will be able to recover their balance in case of loss and access registered social benefits. This set of tools aims to strengthen the passenger experience and provide greater control to technical agencies.

With the arrival of SUBE in the city, passengers can now access the Social Fare benefit. Through this, users who are part of any of the beneficiary groups will travel with a 55% discount.
