Córdoba: the son of Juárez Celman's mayor was involved in a confusing accident
The young man on the motorcycle is out of danger, but the explanations given by the mayor's son left doubts
An accident at the intersection of Av Japón and Juan B Justo complicated traffic this morning in Córdoba capital. The crash involved a Fiat Toro pickup truck and a motorcycle ridden by a 24-year-old man.
The incident occurred around 6:00 a.m. in the Remedios de Escalada neighborhood. Reschia explained that "he didn't see" the motorcycle and blamed the rider for an alleged lack of lights. The motorcyclist ended up on the ground, although he didn't suffer serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck is Maximiliano Reschia, son of the current mayor of Juárez Celman, Fabián Reschia. The latter was elected in 2023 by the ruling Hacemos Unidos por Córdoba coalition, which brought together the PJ and sectors of the provincial UCR. He took office replacing former mayor Myriam Prunotto, current vice governor of the province and a key figure in the alliance's formation.
Confusing accounts
In front of the microphones, Reschia seemed more concerned about getting to work than about the fallen young man. "Are you on your way to work?" he asked, downplaying the accident. Despite the impact, both continued on their way without any apparent intervention from the emergency system.

It wasn't disclosed whether a police report was filed or if the driver underwent a breathalyzer test. The case reopens the debate about controls when officials or their relatives are involved. What is certain is that the accident caused delays during rush hour, affecting those heading to fulfill their work duties.
The Reschia surname has once again appeared in an uncomfortable situation for Juárez Celman's municipal administration. Even without serious injuries, the incident exposes the double standard that prevails for some in local politics. Meanwhile, thousands of Córdoba residents continue to wait for equality before the law and respect on the streets
