The authorities of the discipline determined that the Argentine Road Championship will take place between March 26 and 29. This decision arises from a consensus reached by UCRA together with FACPyR and local entities to adjust the annual sports calendar. The event returns to Córdoba after 25 years of absence, thus completing the schedule of official competitions of the national federation.
The modification of the original dates responds to the technical need to avoid interfering with the development of the upcoming Pan American Championships. This way, the cyclists who participate in the continental event will also be able to compete in the national championship with their full physical condition intact. The aim is to guarantee the highest level of technical hierarchy in each of the races that make up the official schedule of this important competition.
The main route for the men's Elite category includes a total distance of 208 kilometers (129.25 miles) along various provincial roads. The race will start in the city of Río Cuarto and will finish in the capital, reversing the direction that this historic route has traditionally presented. The organizing institutions reported that this change of direction seeks to renew the logistical approach of the traditional Argentine road competition.
La competencia regresa a Córdoba luego de 25 años
Reorganization of the calendar and provincial logistical deployment
The joint planning between the provincial administration and the Municipality of Río Cuarto makes it possible to optimize the resources allocated for this tournament. The directors of the Córdoba Cycling Federation took part in the technical agreement in order to validate the safety conditions throughout the public roads. The objective is to position Córdoba as a strategic point for holding major national and international events.
During the 4 days of activity, the expectation is that athletes from various categories will compete in time trials and in peloton races. The integration of local municipalities guarantees that the deployment of infrastructure will cover all the operational needs of the visiting delegations. All official categories were included so that the Argentine Road Cycling Championship will be representative and will maintain a high level of competition.
The coordination between sports federations and tourism departments ensures that logistics will operate seamlessly throughout the entire development of the race. With the confirmation of the final date, the teams are already beginning the necessary preparations to travel to the geographical center of the country in March. This edition will be recorded as the reunion of the discipline with its most traditional routes after a wait of 25 uninterrupted years.
