The proposal aligns with Donald Trump's intention to import Argentine beef to lower prices in the North American market

The renowned video game developer Sandy Petersen, creator of the legendary Age of Empires, surprised social media with a message in favor of Argentine beef and the government of Javier Milei. "Argentina has fabulous beef. It's practically the only country that knows how to cook steaks outside the United States. Also, I think we should be making trade deals with the current Argentine government", stated the Texan on his X account, where he has hundreds of thousands of followers.
Petersen, a devoted lover of beef cuts, maintained that "the solution" lies in increasing global beef consumption: "We all need to eat more beef so that all ranchers are better off", he concluded. His post caused a wave of positive reactions among Argentine users, who highlighted the international recognition of a product that is a symbol of the country.

The comment from the creator of Age of Empires not only highlights the prestige of Argentine beef, but also aligns with a geopolitical scenario favorable to bilateral trade between Buenos Aires and Washington. In recent weeks, United States President Donald Trump expressed his interest in importing beef from Argentina, with the goal of reducing domestic prices in the United States.
"We'd buy some beef from Argentina. If we do, that'll make our beef prices go down", Trump declared aboard Air Force One, during a flight back from Florida to Washington. The measure seeks to ease the impact of inflation inherited from the Biden administration, one of the main concerns of the White House ahead of the 2026 presidential elections.

The U.S. market is currently facing record beef prices, driven by prolonged droughts that reduced local herds and by health problems in Mexico, its main regional supplier, where an outbreak of necrotizing plague affected exports. In this context, Argentina emerges as an ideal strategic partner: an efficient, competitive producer, and now with a pro-market government that promotes trade openness and deregulation of production.
The good rapport between Trump and Milei has facilitated this rapprochement. The American president has publicly praised the Argentine libertarian, and both governments are working on negotiations for a joint credit line of 20 billion dollars, combining sovereign funds and private capital, aimed at stabilizing the Argentine economy.
The possibility that the United States opens its market to Argentine beef would represent a historic milestone. In addition to generating fresh foreign currency income, it would allow the country to establish itself in one of the most demanding and highest value-added markets in the world, where prices per kilo far exceed those of traditional destinations such as China.
