Darío Barassi experienced one of those moments that remain etched forever. During the family vacation he enjoyed in October in the United States, the host had the opportunity to meet Lionel Messi at Inter Miami's stadium.
Although he shared his excitement on social media at the time, it was only during his visit to La Noche de Mirtha (El Trece) that he revealed how that long-awaited meeting came about and who was the key figure in making it happen.
According to his account, the trip to Miami was the first time the family visited the city, and the opportunity arose unexpectedly. "We went with the oldest. We were in Miami, which was for the first time, we'd never been. The opportunity came up through his wife, since Antonela is wonderful," Barassi said, visibly grateful.

Regarding the first contact, he highlighted Antonela Roccuzzo's willingness: "I reached out to her and she replied immediately. She didn't put up any obstacles, they made everything easy for me. She said: 'Come with whoever you want.'"
The host explained that the invitation happened in an informal context, since Messi was with friends, which made the meeting even more natural. Regarding the family experience, Barassi detailed that he only attended with his eldest daughter.
"The youngest didn't want to go because she's learning to use the bathroom and didn't want to leave there. She told me: 'I'm not leaving the bathroom.' She's three years old and is getting out of diapers, so it was impossible to convince her," he recounted with a laugh. "Someday she's going to regret it," he joked.

Beyond the anecdote, Barassi was struck by the presence and attitude of the captain of the Argentina national team. "We were there as a family meeting this guy, and it's unbelievable what he generates in a second. He represents us on another level. I thought he was an amazing human being," he said.
During the conversation on the show, Mirtha Legrand highlighted Messi's modesty and personality. "I love his modesty, his naturalness," the host commented.
Barassi agreed and added a detail that especially surprised him: it was Messi himself who helped him calm his nerves in the moment. "I wanted to let him go, I told him: 'Brother, that's it, go on with your life.' And he replied: 'Slow down, have a seat.' We ended up talking for 45 minutes," he recalled.
