Deputies will debate the DNU of the agreement with the IMF: the ruling party achieved quorum
The ruling party managed to gather the 131 deputies needed to enable the debate
The Chamber of Deputies began the session to debate DNU 179/2025, which allows the Government to incur new debt with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Despite resistance from some sectors, the ruling party obtained the necessary majority for the quorum and will proceed with the decree's discussion.
The ruling party reached quorum with 131 deputies

The session, scheduled for 10 a.m., began 24 minutes later, once the 131 deputies needed to enable the debate were gathered.
Who contributed to the quorum?
- La Libertad Avanza (LLA).
- PRO.
- UCR.
- Coalición Cívica.
- Several legislators from Encuentro Federal.
- Usual allies of the ruling party belonging to minor parties.
Before the start of the debate, the block leaders participated in a Parliamentary Labor meeting to define the session's dynamics.
The ruling party seeks to quickly close the discussion

The block of La Libertad Avanza announced its intention to shorten the debate and conclude it as soon as possible. To do this, it will rely on article 127, section 4 of the Chamber of Deputies' regulations, which allows closing the debate with a motion of order.
When would this request be made?
- The ruling party is expected to request the closure of the debate around 3 p.m.
- Then, they will seek to proceed with the general voting of the DNU.
Rejection from the K opposition

The Unión por la Patria block expressed its rejection of the libertarian strategy and demanded that the debate continue with more speakers. From the Kirchnerist bench, they believe that the session can't be abruptly closed without a more extensive discussion on the impact of the debt with the IMF.
With the ruling party determined to proceed with its strategy and the opposition trying to extend the discussion, the debate over DNU 179/2025 promises to be one of the central axes of legislative activity in the coming hours.
