Deputy Minister Daza in Córdoba: Milei reduced spending by 15 points and put the accounts in order

The Deputy Minister of Economy highlighted the removal of currency controls, the reduction of public spending, and projected minimal inflation in the region

The Deputy Minister of Economy, José Luis Daza, participated this Thursday at the Córdoba Stock Exchange in the Economic Outlook Cycle. In his presentation, he strongly supported the Government's economic strategy. He stated that the floating exchange rate system is operating normally and that the Central Bank is acting decisively to guarantee stability.

Daza explained that interest rates will remain at high levels to consolidate monetary order. He emphasized that the new policy has allowed liquidity to be channeled into longer-term instruments and has prevented inflationary surges. "The dollar floats freely and the BCRA doesn't intervene in the spot market, only in peso futures," he stressed.

The official highlighted that the removal of currency controls was an accomplished goal and that decisive progress has been made in cleaning up the financial system. He recalled that since January the Government had anticipated turbulence, but he assured that the measures adopted have made it possible to maintain the economic course.

Fiscal progress and order in public accounts

During his speech, Daza highlighted the historic reduction in public spending achieved in the first year of the administration. He pointed out that the Milei administration reduced the product by 15 points, an unprecedented adjustment in the region. He acknowledged that there are still areas to be corrected, but he insisted that the path is clear and firm.

The Deputy Minister stated that the fiscal commitment is unwavering and that it is a key signal to the markets and society. He also urged the provinces to join the effort to reduce unnecessary expenses. "It is absolutely essential that they accompany, because fiscal order is the foundation of growth," he asserted.

This way, he stressed that discipline in public accounts is a pillar of Milei's economic plan. According to Daza, maintaining balance will make it possible to consolidate confidence and create conditions for sustainable recovery.

Optimistic projections and support for Milei

Regarding inflation, Daza projected that it will continue to fall consistently in the coming months. "In two years, Argentina will have the lowest inflation in the region," he predicted optimistically. He explained that the combination of monetary discipline and economic openness will make it possible to achieve that goal.

He also defended the trade liberalization strategy in the face of Mercosur restrictions. He pointed out that the bloc limits Argentina and cited Chile as an example, which opted for global integration with great success. "We must open ourselves to the world in order to grow and prosper," he stated.

Finally, Daza praised President Javier Milei's leadership and described the current process as an "epic feat." He emphasized that the Government is waging a decisive battle against an entrenched system that resists change. "The challenge is to stay the course until Argentines see tangible benefits," he concluded.
