Trump's intervention in the capital leads to the arrest of dangerous criminals
In recent days, following the intervention in the U.S. capital due to its high crime rates, several undocumented individuals with criminal records have been arrested
The recent federal intervention in Washington D.C., driven by President Donald Trump, has caused a significant reduction in crime in the U.S. capital.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has reported multiple arrests of immigrants with serious criminal records, including sexual offenses against minors and violent robberies.
The operation has been led mainly by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), who have focused on detaining illegal immigrants with extensive criminal histories.

The main arrests.
Among those arrested is David Perez-Teofani, a Mexican immigrant previously accused of aggravated sexual abuse against a minor under 13 and of indecent sexual propositions, serious charges that make him one of the top targets of this operation.
Another notable arrest is Wilker Patino-Solis, a member of the dangerous Venezuelan criminal gang Tren de Aragua. Patino-Solis had previously been detained for aggravated robbery and had four prior encounters with immigration authorities.
In the same way, Mario Marquez-Garcia, a Salvadoran immigrant with an extensive criminal record that includes arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol, aggravated assault against a police officer with a weapon, robbery, and violations of court orders, was captured. Marquez-Garcia had eight previous interactions with federal authorities.

Trump's intervention, by the numbers.
The federal intervention in the U.S. capital seeks to restore law and order and return its security and beauty. Its effects, so far, have been remarkable: in the last 14 days, the city has recorded an 11% decrease in total crimes, including significant reductions in robberies (-42%), assaults with deadly weapons (-13%), car thefts (-24%), and carjackings (-85%).
Violent crime has dropped by 25% and property crimes by 10%, according to data shared by the D.C. Police Union on its X account.
One of the most striking indicators has been the 12-day streak without homicides, something unprecedented in a city that, under Democratic control, was known for its high rate of violence. In fact, Washington D.C. has long been one of the most dangerous cities in the country, with a homicide rate higher than Chicago's and nearly seven times greater than New York's.
