Digimon Story: Time Stranger arrives with 450 creatures and non-linear evolution

Digimon Story: Time Stranger, the upcoming title from Bandai Namco and Media.Vision, promises to revitalize the franchise with an ambitious proposal:  more than 450 Digimon available, a revamped combat system, and mechanics that combine customization, strategy, and narrative progression.

A new chapter in digital history

After nearly a decade of absence, Digimon Story returns with a story set in Iliad, a digital world that collides with the human realm. The player becomes an agent of ADAMAS, an organization responsible for investigating anomalies between both universes.

The plot is characterized by its mysterious tone, emotional bonds, and deep connection with the Digimon that accompany the protagonist.

Tactical battles and non-linear evolution system

The game introduces a turn-based combat system with a strong tactical focus, where each Digimon's attributes and elements are key. Battles become more complex and strategic thanks to a new multiple evolution system: depending on environmental conditions, training, and the player's decisions, each creature can follow different paths.

An innovative feature is added to this:  the personalities of the Digimon. There are 16 types available, each impacting the abilities and development of the creatures. Through the Digifarm, players can train, modify, and optimize these traits to adapt them to their play style.

Agent skills and Cross Arts

The protagonist can also evolve in gameplay terms. As missions are completed, special skills are obtained that enhance the connection with Digimon, accelerate digivolutions, and allow unlocking advanced techniques known as Cross Arts.
