Domestic employment: this is how hourly and monthly wages look after the increase

The minimum wage increases by 6.5%, and a bonus of up to $10,000 will be paid. There will also be automatic debit for contributions

The  domestic staff will receive a new increase of 6.5% that will be applied between February and September. In addition, non-remunerative bonuses of up to $10,000 are added.

The agreement was defined by the National Commission for Work in Private Homes and is expected to be officially published soon in the Official Gazette.

How is the increase applied to domestic workers' salaries?

The increase will be 3.5% on January salaries and an additional 1% for July, August, and September. In addition, a staggered bonus was established according to the weekly working hours.

The Government and unions will meet again in October to negotiate the annual wage agreement closure.

  • Supervisors with live-out: $3,454 per hour / $479,950 per month
  • Supervisors with live-in: $3,783 per hour / $479,950 per month
  • Specific tasks with live-out: $3,270 per hour / $400,310 per month
  • Specific tasks with live-in: $3,585 per hour / $445,613 per month
  • Live-in caretakers: $3,089 per hour / $391,567 per month
  • Assistance with live-out: $3,089 per hour / $390,567 per month
  • Assistance with live-in: $3,454 per hour / $435,246 per month
  • General tasks with live-out: $2,863 per hour / $351,233 per month
  • General tasks with live-in: $3,089 per hour / $390,567 per month

Non-remunerative bonus: how much is paid according to hours worked

Workers who work more than 16 hours per week will receive $10,000 in July and $9,500 in August and September.

Those who work between 12 and 16 hours will receive $7,000 in July and $6,000 in August and September. For those who work up to 12 hours per week, the bonus will be $4,000 per month.

Automatic debit: new benefit for employers

ARCA enabled the automatic debit option for the payment of contributions to domestic staff. The process is done only once and the monthly payment is debited without additional procedures.

This system covers more than 450,000 registered employers. It includes contributions, social security, and the ART fee.
