Dominion Voting Systems, the company that produces and markets hardware and software for voting machines in the United States and is commonly associated with electoral fraud, was purchased by a Republican leader.
Scott Leiendecker, a Republican who served as a former election director of a county located in the state of Missouri, and the founder of another well-known election technology company, will now lead Dominion.
In a statement, the new owners emphasized that their mission will be "to restore public trust" in elections with "transparent, secure, and reliable" voting systems.
It is important to remember that Dominion Voting Systems helped former President Joe Biden commit fraud in the 2020 presidential elections. Donald Trump himself publicly accused it of having played a crucial role in the Democratic fraud that cost him his second term at that time.

Dominion filed hundreds of lawsuits in 2020
As a result of the 2020 elections, and thanks to a favorable political landscape stemming from Joe Biden occupying the White House, Dominion pocketed several million dollars in recent years. This was the result of defamation lawsuits that the company initiated in court, litigation that later turned into multimillion-dollar settlements.
The new owners asked Dominion to solve, as part of the agreement, several other defamation lawsuits that had been filed against Trump allies such as Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell. Reportedly, the election company has reached undisclosed settlements with these figures in American politics.

The new owner promises changes in the company
Dominion's website now redirects to Liberty Vote, the company Leiendecker created in 2011. "My fellow Americans, today I'm proud to announce Liberty Vote, an election technology company that's dedicated to restoring trust in our elections. Our mission is clear: every vote must be secure, fair, and verifiable," the statement says.
"I've spent my life working to strengthen America's elections. That commitment began years ago, after the 2000 elections, when I worked for the Secretary of State of Missouri," he added.
"Later, as Election Director in St. Louis, I led the effort to modernize outdated systems and rebuild public trust. Finally, I founded an election technology company that today serves nearly one in four voters nationwide," he continues.
"With Liberty Vote, we're building on that legacy. We're turning the page and beginning the vital work of restoring faith in American elections. Although these changes won't happen overnight, Liberty Vote's mission is rooted in American values and committed to transparency, independent audits, and verifiable paper records. Our purpose is simple: to ensure that elections in the U.S. are secure, fair, and honest," Leiendecker concluded.
