Elections in Salta: The complete list of La Libertad Avanza for the provincial Senate

President Javier Milei's party will compete for the 12 seats up for grabs in the provincial Senate

The province of Salta is preparing for the local elections on May 11, and La Libertad Avanza, the party led nationally by Javier Milei, will make its debut in the contest with a list of candidates competing for the 12 seats at stake in the provincial Senate.

Under the leadership of Alfredo Olmedo and national deputy María Emilia Orozco, the libertarian space presented candidates in almost all districts that will renew representatives in the Upper House, marking its first foray into Salta politics with a proposal that seeks to replicate Milei's successful government model but at the provincial level.

The 12 Senate seats to be contested correspond to the departments of Capital, Cachi, Chicoana, Cafayate, General Güemes, Guachipas, La Caldera, La Poma, Los Andes, Molinos, Rosario de Lerma, and San Carlos.

La Libertad Avanza's list

La Libertad Avanza's list of candidates for these districts is composed of: Alicia Chiliguay (Cachi), José Pizarro (Cafayate), Roque Ramón Cornejo Avellaneda (Capital), Gabriela Rueda (Chicoana), Albino López López (General Güemes), José Ramiro Illescas (Guachipas), Gustavo Javier Pantaleón (La Caldera), Esteban Aníbal Martínez (Los Andes), Nancy Edith Asturiano (Molinos), Gisela Longarela (Rosario de Lerma), and Roque Carrizo (San Carlos).

Deputy María Emilia Orozco, a key figure in La Libertad Avanza's political structure in Salta, took the reins of the campaign, consolidating the space's presence in a province where traditional politics has historically dominated. Alongside Olmedo, Orozco focused her speech on individual freedom, the reduction of public spending, and criticism of the provincial political class's privileges, seeking to represent the demand of an electorate looking for change like the one President Javier Milei is implementing at the national level.

In total, the May 11 elections in Salta will mobilize more than 8,000 candidacies to renew 30 of the 60 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, 121 councilors, and 232 municipal convention members, in addition to the 12 Senate seats. La Libertad Avanza, with its debut, seeks to position itself as an alternative to traditional parties.

By voting for La Libertad Avanza's list, Salta residents are voting for President Milei's candidates, who managed to avoid what could have been the worst crisis in history and is leading the country toward a path of sustained growth and well-being. Now, it's time for this success to be replicated in all the provinces of the country.
