Elon Musk asked the US Congress to reject the budget because it is too deficit-ridden.
The businessman strongly criticized the deputies who voted in favor of the project, which will increase the deficit
The successful entrepreneur Elon Musk, who recently stepped down from his role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), publicly criticized and urged U.S. lawmakers to reject the budget bill approved by the representatives in Congress, which he considers dangerous for the country's financial stability.
This initiative, which has already been approved in the House of Representatives, will now have to be debated in the Senate, which will have the final say.
In a series of social media posts, Musk harshly expressed his concern about the fiscal direction Congress has taken after approving a spending bill that, as he explained, could increase the federal deficit by more than $2.5 trillion.

"I'm sorry, but I can't take it anymore," Musk wrote. "This massive, outrageous, and excessive Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination," he added.
Additionally, in a strong criticism of the Republican lawmakers who voted in favor, he stated: "Those who voted in favor should be ashamed: they know they did wrong. They know it."
According to the entrepreneur, this new fiscal package will mean an unsustainable financial burden for current and future generations. "It will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden American citizens with a crushingly unsustainable debt," he warned.
Elon Musk's role in DOGE
Elon Musk held the leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) until a few days ago, an agency created by President Donald Trump with the goal of reviewing the functioning of the state apparatus and reducing unnecessary spending, with the aim of reducing the deficit.

During his tenure in that position, Musk promoted a plan that, according to official figures, managed to save more than $175 billion in federal spending.
Thanks to measures such as the elimination of unnecessary programs, the digital modernization of bureaucratic processes, the contractual review of state suppliers, the dismissal of public employees and corrupt programs, DOGE under Musk's leadership became one of the most prominent pillars of the effort to achieve a more efficient and sustainable United States.
Nevertheless, his departure, which was already scheduled, doesn't affect DOGE's operations, since it will continue reducing expenses and Musk will continue helping from another position. In this context, the entrepreneur himself expressed his frustration at seeing how a new budget could put the achievements at risk.
For now, it remains to be seen whether Musk's public request will influence a possible review of the bill by Congress. This initiative has already been approved in the House of Representatives, and will now have to be debated in the Senate.
