The Real Madrid confirmed this Monday one of the most important departures in its recent history: Dani Carvajal will not continue at the club once the season ends. The right-back and captain of the team will thus close a chapter of more than 23 years at the institution between the youth academy and the professional squad, where he became one of the most successful and important footballers in the club's recent history.
The official farewell will take place this Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu, during the last LaLiga match against Athletic Bilbao, where the defender will receive a special tribute from the club and the Madrid fans. "Real Madrid wants to show its gratitude and all its affection to one of the greatest legends of our club and world football", the institution expressed in the statement announcing the player's departure.
The message also included words from president Florentino Pérez, who highlighted the historical significance of the defender within the club. "Dani Carvajal is a legend and a symbol of Real Madrid and its youth academy. His image alongside our beloved and remembered Alfredo Di Stéfano laying the first stone of the Ciudad Real Madrid will forever remain in the hearts of all Madrid fans and in the history of our club. Carvajal has always exemplified the values of Real Madrid. This is and will always be his home", he stated.
Trained in the Madrid youth academy, Carvajal leaves an indelible mark on the white club. During his time in the first team, he won multiple national and international trophies, including six Champions League titles, becoming one of the most successful right-backs in football history.

However, the end of his cycle was marked by sporting difficulties. The serious injury suffered last season affected his continuity and, despite having renewed during his recovery, he never fully regained his place in the team. Additionally, the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold ended up relegating him in the consideration of the coaching staff led by Álvaro Arbeloa, in a relationship that, according to reports in Spain, deteriorated in recent months.
Beyond this, the Bernabéu is preparing to pay tribute to one of its great contemporary references and will bid farewell with an ovation to a player who dedicated more than two decades of his life to Real Madrid and leaves as a legend.
