Evangelical pastor under investigation in Córdoba for alleged trafficking and labor exploitation
Eight people were rescued in an operation in Villa La Tela following a raid on an alleged rehabilitation center
The Federal Justice and the Córdoba Police carried out an operation in the Villa La Tela neighborhood where they rescued eight people subjected to servitude. The procedure was conducted in a residence that operated under the guise of a spiritual rehabilitation center. The accused is an evangelical pastor under investigation for alleged human trafficking and labor exploitation.
The property was identified with a sign that read "Hogar Levantando al Caído" and pretended to provide spiritual support to vulnerable individuals. However, the victims were subjected to an exploitation regime that included forced labor without any rights. These were individuals with addiction problems and in need.
"There are eight people with addiction problems who came here seeking a spiritual solution and found themselves in this situation," stated Córdoba's Security Minister, Juan Pablo Quinteros. After the rescue, the victims received immediate assistance. The case was left in the hands of the Federal Justice to advance the investigations.

Investigation progress
During the raid, in addition to freeing the eight people, documentation related to the case that may provide key evidence was seized. Federal prosecutor Carlos Casas Nóblega took charge of the investigation to determine the scope of the crimes. Authorities would also seek to establish whether there are other members within the organization.
The case focuses on the evangelical pastor as the main accused, although it is not ruled out that there may be collaborators within the structure. The investigations aim to determine whether this was an isolated act or part of a larger network. The collection of evidence and testimonies will be decisive in the judicial stage.
Specialists emphasize that this type of case often takes advantage of people with severe addiction problems and lack of resources. The rehabilitation front serves as a cover to attract victims who then become trapped in a servitude scheme. Authorities stressed that this is a serious crime with multiple aspects yet to be clarified.
