Exclusive interview by LDD with Karoline Leavitt: 'Listen to new media voices'

Javier Negre interviewed Trump's press secretary and asked her about a series of highly important topics

President Donald Trump's press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, granted an exclusive interview to journalist and owner of La Derecha Diario, Javier Negre, during which she addressed topics related to religion, internal security, and the role of the Republican administration in the face of acts of violence.

Leavitt also shared the White House's perspective regarding the Hispanic community in the United States, highlighting the values she considers central in its relationship with this population and the importance of a clear immigration policy. The official emphasized the president's closeness to Hispanic Americans and the importance of preserving a legal system of immigration.

Finally, the press secretary questioned the role of some traditional media outlets in their coverage of the Trump administration and defended the need to disseminate alternative voices, such as La Derecha Diario.

The full interview with Karoline Leavitt

Javier Negre: I'm very sorry about the shooting in Minneapolis. You're a very Catholic woman, just like me. What would you say to the Christian community, to the Catholic community that is truly concerned right now about the shooting and the spiritual battle? Because some of these massacres are being hidden by traditional media, and they're always talking about other religions, but they don't want to talk about the suffering of the Christian people and the Catholic people.

Karoline Leavitt: Yes, it's so tragic to see what happened in Minneapolis, Minnesota, this week. It's very clear that this was an attack targeting these Catholic Christian children who were at mass, kneeling, praying in the pews, on their first day of classes. There's no greater evil than a monster like this, trying to take the lives of small children, and now we're beginning to understand, through the FBI's investigation, that this is exactly what he intended to do. So the FBI, under the leadership of Kash Patel, who is our unbelievable FBI director, is now investigating this heinous murder, these murders, and this act as an act of terrorism and a hate crime targeting Catholics and Christians in this country, which, unfortunately, we've seen a very concerning increase in this persecution and these attacks on people of Christian faith here in the United States and around the world. Meanwhile, this administration firmly opposes that and proudly defends our Judeo-Christian values of faith in God and in Jesus Christ, of family, and of freedom. So we'll continue to defend those values and, of course, seek answers and justice for these families who so deserve it.

Negre: What is Trump's opinion about the Hispanic community? And your opinion as well.

Leavitt: The president loves Hispanic Americans and has gained great support from this community in our country because I know the president defends the same values that are so important to Hispanics throughout America and around the world. Those values, again, as I said, are our faith, our family, our freedom, common sense values like, as you know, less government, working hard to get where you want to go. The president's offensive against illegal immigration in this country, I believe, is incredibly encouraging for Hispanic Americans who came to America the right way, who waited their turn, who paid their fees, and who complied with the laws of our nation. So the president wants to maintain our legal immigration system to invite more law-abiding Hispanics from around the world to enjoy the American dream and enjoy our great country. But we're not going to allow illegal immigrants from all over the world, from countries across the globe, to really undermine that system and ruin the American dream for people everywhere. I believe the president's boldness in speaking about those values has been very appealing to the Hispanic American community, and that's why he gained great support from them in the last elections.

Negre: What do you think about Hispanic media and traditional media that are spreading fake news about Trump's immigration policy?

Leavitt: There's so much fake news being published. So for your audience, I just want them to know to listen to new voices from media like yours when it comes to focusing on this administration's policies. Because the president wants to deport illegal criminals and threats to the public safety of the United States of America. He wants to encourage people to immigrate here legally, the right way, following the rules, paying their fees, waiting their turn. That's how it should be. If the United States is not a nation of laws, we'll cease to be a nation at all. This country will no longer be a place for anyone to come and enjoy. So we have to enforce law and order in our communities. The president wants security, prosperity, and economic security for all Americans, regardless of your race, your religion, or your creed.
