The mayor of D.C. admits that Trump's intervention helped reduce crime.

The Democratic official made this act of brutal honesty during a press conference held last Wednesday

Washington D.C.'s Democratic mayor, Muriel Bowser, admitted on Wednesday that the deployment of National Guard troops ordered by President Donald Trump has caused crime rates to drop drastically and has made residents feel safer.

"We greatly appreciate the increase in officers that reinforces what the Metropolitan Police Department has been able to do in this city," confessed the Democratic Party affiliate at a press conference.

Bowser indicated that the most concerning crime in the capital—and that local forces failed to control—was vehicle theft. Under the new security scheme imposed by Trump, this criminal act has seen a 90 percent drop compared to the same 20-day period last year.

The mayor is working together with Trump's administration.

"We know that when vehicle thefts decrease, when the use of weapons decreases, when homicides or robberies decrease, residents feel and are safer, which is why this increase has been important for us," the mayor continued.

Bowser confirmed that despite her party's opposition, she has been working together with United States Attorney General Pam Bondi and Trump's White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles to restore security to a capital that is already reporting that crime has dropped by 15% compared to the same period in 2024.

It should be recalled that on August 11, Trump decided to federalize the Washington D.C. police department and sent the National Guard to fight crime. Since then, there have been more than 1,000 arrests and more than 100 illegal weapons seized. Last night, for example, 86 arrests were reported, many of them accused of assaulting law enforcement.

Among the main detainees are David Perez-Teofani, an illegal immigrant accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old minor, and Wilker Patino-Solis, a Venezuelan member of the Tren de Aragua gang who had previously been arrested for aggravated robbery and then released.
