Alert: A false bomb threat forced the closure of Ezeiza Airport

The international airport of Ezeiza was the scene of a security operation on Wednesday following a bomb threat that turned out to be false. An anonymous call to 911 alerted authorities that a passenger on a flight from Mendoza to Buenos Aires was carrying an explosive device. The report forced the activation of emergency protocols and caused the temporary suspension of air operations.

The information was confirmed by Spanish journalist and owner of La Derecha Diario,  Javier Negre, who recounted the incident through his official X (formerly Twitter) account, from where he reported that he was on board an aircraft affected by the incident.

How the operation unfolded

According to Negre, the flight he was on had to remain flying over the airport area for more than half an hour. In the absence of certainty, the plane diverted its course to Aeroparque as an alternative.
