Recently declassified intelligence documents by the United States Senate reveal that the FBI deliberately chose not to investigate the email scandal that shook Hillary Clinton when she was an official in Barack Obama's administration.
The batch of files was declassified thanks to the efforts of the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chuck Grassley, who told the press that he has no doubt that the FBI failed to properly investigate this national security scandal.
"This document shows an extreme lack of effort and diligence in the FBI's investigation into former Secretary Clinton's use of email and the mishandling of highly classified information", the senator said in a press release issued on Monday.

Clinton, secretary of state in Obama's administration between 2009 and 2013, was allegedly investigated by the FBI for having improperly stored or transmitted classified information on a private email server.

Obama protected Clinton
According to Grassley, the intelligence reports he reviewed allege that it was Obama who took steps to thwart the investigation into Clinton and thus protect his ally's candidacy, which explains why the FBI did not make a serious effort during the inquiry.
"Years ago I warned that the investigation into Clinton was missing the mark, I'm grateful that the American people can finally see the facts for themselves", Grassley said in the statement.
"After almost a decade in the shadows, this information now comes to light thanks to the dedicated efforts of Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel to fulfill my request to Congress," the Iowa politician concluded.
