Among the ordered procedures are the analysis of security cameras in the area, taking statements from witnesses, and consulting the young woman about whether she wishes to formally file a criminal complaint and request protective measures. Additionally, a police presence was established at the former congressman's home.
The incident prompted a significant police and SAME deployment on Avenida del Libertador. Neighbors who witnessed the scene reported seeing the young woman asking for help in the middle of the street. “I saw a girl running down the street asking for help,” one of the witnesses told Radio Mitre.
Hours later, national deputy and lawyer Hugo "Huguito" Moyano arrived at the police station to inquire about the case and assist his brother. It was later confirmed that the defense of Facundo Moyano is in charge of lawyers Alfredo Gascon and Miguel Molina.
The first images of Facundo Moyano were released after being detained by the City Police, following the incident that occurred early Monday morning in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Belgrano involving Candela Arizaga. The photographs, taken inside the police station, began circulating a few hours after the operation and show the former congressman while he remains at the disposal of the Justice.
The released images show Moyano dressed in a black t-shirt. One of the photographs was taken from the front and the other from the side, both inside the police station where he was held while judicial proceedings advance.
The former legislator was detained after an incident that occurred around 5 a.m. in a building located on Avenida del Libertador. According to the investigation, a 23-year-old woman left the place asking for help and reported having been assaulted.
According to the police report, both Moyano and the woman were under the influence of drugs at the time of the police intervention. The young woman was taken to the Pirovano Hospital, where she received medical care, psychological and psychiatric assistance, in addition to undergoing toxicological tests.
