Leonor's first stop in New York: Spanish music and dinner with classmates
The Princess of Asturias enjoyed a musical evening at Carnegie Hall alongside the midshipmen
Princess Leonor began her agenda in New York with a night filled with Spanish culture. She attended Carnegie Hall to witness A Musical Fantasy from Spain, a performance by the Teatro Real orchestra that blended classical works with zarzuela.
This time, Leonor appeared smiling, dressed in the white Navy uniform, and seated among her fellow midshipmen in the legendary New York auditorium. The event marked Teatro Real's fourth visit to the United States.
Spanish music with female talent
The concert included pieces by Manuel de Falla and Maurice Ravel, as well as zarzuela, and stood out for the debut at Carnegie Hall of soprano Saioa Hernández.Violinist María Dueñas also excelled, performing Wolfgang Korngold's Violin Concerto in D major.

Before the performance, the midshipmen attended a reception and an informal dinner. There, they took the opportunity to take a group photo on the rooftop of the building, overlooking the city. Leonor also posed with the female midshipmen who are part of this journey aboard the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano.

An official agenda with a farewell flavor
This was Princess Leonor's first public event since her arrival at the port of New York. She is expected to remain in the city until June 10, when she will return by plane to Spain. Until then, she will participate in more official activities.

Among them, her presence is expected at a flag oath ceremony aboard the training ship. She will also attend a meeting with members of the Spanish community in New York, which the Duchess of Medinaceli, Victoria de Hohenlohe, might also attend.
Although there was speculation about the possible arrival of Queen Sofía—who already presided over one of these concerts in 2022—ultimately, no member of the Royal Family was announced to accompany the heiress on this final leg of the academic cruise.
Meanwhile, another rumor gained traction: the possibility that Infanta Sofía would meet with her sister at some event, after several months without seeing each other since the Christmas holidays. For now, there have been no official confirmations.
