Five haircut trends to wear in spring-summer 2025

From the return of a reinvented classic to the boldest bet of the summer, discover everything in this article

With the arrival of warmer weather, the desire to refresh one's look increases. The spring-summer 2025 season is shaping up to be one where naturalness, movement, and sophistication take center stage in both haircuts and hair colors.

According to hair designer and Redken ambassador Juandiegoteo, the key will be to find easy-to-maintain styles, ideal for days at the beach, pool, or long hours outdoors, without giving up glamour.

In terms of color, the palette features elegant and luminous shades that flatter different skin types.

From champagne blonde with warm undertones and an "old money" vibe, to mocha mousse chosen by Pantone as the color of the year, the spectrum combines classic and contemporary elements.

The stylist also highlights options such as "sombré" —a soft blend of caramel, honey, and golden tones—, dark brown with multidimensional highlights, and "boho hair," which brightens natural hair tones for a fresh and dimensional finish.

But the big question is: Which haircuts will dominate this season? Here are five trends that will define spring-summer 2025:

1. Butterfly cut, the renewed classic

The butterfly cut remains a favorite. This is a layered style with face-framing layers, usually accompanied by a long, curtain fringe at jaw level. It is especially flattering for oval, square, and elongated faces, bringing freshness and softness to facial features. For a flawless look, the expert recommends proper maintenance: nourishing shampoo and conditioner, serum for the ends, and heat protectants if using a flat iron or hair dryer.

2. Pixie, for the boldest

Short, versatile, and rejuvenating, the pixie is ideal for women seeking a radical change. Similar to the garçon cut but with shorter sides and nape, it can be styled with a quiff for a more rock-inspired and relaxed look. It is especially flattering for fine hair, as it adds density, and is highly recommended for women over 45 years old who want a modern and characterful style.

3. Layered cut, guaranteed movement

This style, similar to the butterfly cut but more versatile, adapts to long, medium, or short hair, whether straight or curly. The layers add texture, volume, and a youthful vibe, flattering any face shape thanks to its ability to be customized.

4. Chin-length bob

The bob never goes out of style, but this season it is worn at chin length. It can be straight and polished for an elegant finish, or with subtle layers for more volume and a more casual touch. It is especially flattering for oval, heart-shaped, and square faces, as it helps balance facial features.

5. Old money bob with butterfly fringe

Inspired by Italian divas, this cut combines the sophistication of the bob with the freshness of a long, feathered fringe that reaches the cheekbones. It adds volume and movement, and is perfect for those seeking an elegant and timeless look. It works well on oval, round, square, and elongated faces, thanks to its ability to soften and harmonize proportions.
