Why do banks offer different fixed term rates

The BCRA established in 2024 the deregulation of minimum interest rates for fixed deposits in pesos.

Since then, the yield percentage is at the discretion of each banking entity. Therefore, the rates reported for a fixed term deposit may vary between banks.

How to establish a fixed term deposit according to the BCRA

Customers can establish the fixed term deposit through the home banking of the entity they choose, according to the conditions offered.

Those who are not customers can visit the selected bank's website to request the establishment of the deposit. The BCRA indicates that this tool is free for users and does not require paperwork or other procedures.
