Florencio Varela: a prisoner would leave his cell to drink mate with the commissioner
A raid in Florencio Varela discovered a prisoner having mate with the commissioner, both with a common past.
During a raid at the Third Police Station of Florencio Varela, an unusual situation was discovered. An inmate was outside his cell, drinking mate with the commissioner.
The operation was carried out by the Internal Affairs Division of the Buenos Aires Police.

What was found in the police station raid
The incident occurred at the end of January, following an anonymous complaint. The agents caught Marcos Rosseti, a police officer detained for a case of easy trigger, outside his cell. The detainee was drinking mate with the precinct's commissioner.
Rosseti was detained for the attack on Ruth Cabral, who was injured by a shotgun blast during a neighborhood disturbance. Curiously, the detained officer remained in the same police station where he worked before the incident.
The complaint and the surprise at the police station
The complaint indicated that Rosseti was never really detained. According to the accusation, he roamed freely around the police station as if nothing had happened.

This raised suspicions of a possible cover-up within the force. Now, the Prosecutor's Office is investigating who facilitated his stay outside the cell.
The case of Ruth Cabral and the shooting
Rosseti's detention is linked to the case of Ruth Cabral, which occurred in November 2024. A disturbance, caused by a drunken man, ended with a fight involving more than 30 people.

As the police were leaving, Rosseti and Cabral had an altercation. She attempted to seize Rosseti's shotgun, which led to an accidental discharge that injured her in the chest.
What doubts did Rosseti's version generate?
Rosseti's version was questioned due to the severity of Cabral's injuries. Witnesses and evidence reinforce the accusation of aggravated homicide.
The judge rejected the modification of the charge. The accusation for aggravated injuries was maintained, considering the available evidence.
