Florencio Varela: they were riding horses, stole a goat, and fired at a police officer
The incident occurred in broad daylight. The officer was beaten, had a gun pointed at him, and miraculously saved his life
In Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires province, an unusual and violent incident took place that could well have come from a western movie scene. Two criminals on horseback stole a goat in a semi-rural neighborhood and, when intercepted by a police officer, they attacked him brutally.
The incident occurred on Friday at noon on 909 Street in El Bosque neighborhood. According to Mauro Szeta on Lape Club Social (América), everything began when the thieves—two brothers—tried to rob a plaza about five blocks from the scene. After failing in their attempt, they fled on horseback and came across a small field where goats were grazing.
From a failed robbery to an attack on a police officer
There, they took one of the goats, loaded it onto one of the horses, and escaped. Everything was recorded by security cameras, both public and private.

A police officer who lives in the area, dressed in civilian clothes, noticed the situation after hearing the neighbors' screams. He took his motorcycle and tried to intercept them. However, after falling during the chase, the criminals got off the horses and attacked him.
They struck him on the head with the butt of a gun, beat him with several people involved, and, according to the officer himself, they pulled the trigger at least four times with a weapon that miraculously did not fire. They also allegedly held a knife to his throat.
Finally, the police managed to arrest the strikers, thanks to the camera footage and the low speed of their escape, since they were riding horses. Meanwhile, the goat managed to escape on its own and was recovered.
