For years, Edith Sánchez was part of the closest circle ofLuis Miguel. According to her own account, she not only worked alongside the Mexican artist for 25 years but also developed a very close emotional bond with him. However, the relationship ended abruptly, and today the woman is claiming a multi-million dollar labor debt that she asserts has still not been settled.
Currently 69 years old, Edith shared her story in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País, where she recalled various moments shared with the singer. Among them, a photograph taken in September 1994 in which she is embraced by the artist during the celebration of her birthday.
“He was singing to me because it was my birthday; they threw me a party with mariachis and everything,” she nostalgically recalled about that celebration organized by the interpreter of La incondicional.
Luis Miguel would not have paid a settlement accordingly.
However, behind those affectionate memories also lie years of extreme work demands. Sánchez claimed that for more than two decades she worked “day and night,” accompanying the singer on his tours, professional commitments, and personal trips.
As she explained, she took care of multiple tasks related to the artist's daily logistics: from organizing trips and taking care of his clothes to issues related to cleaning and personal assistance.
“I never had vacations, I never had anything,” she stated in an interview with the Spanish media while describing the conditions under which she would have worked for so many years.

The health problem that changed everything
The working relationship between Edith and Luis Miguel reportedly came to an end in 2017 when she had to travel to Mexico for various medical check-ups due to her delicate health condition. She recounted that from that moment on, she completely lost contact with the singer.
The woman claimed to have gone through two cancers and currently lives with diabetes, a situation that generates significant medical expenses and economic difficulties for her. In that context, she maintains that she expected to receive appropriate compensation for the years she dedicated to the artist.
According to her version, it was only in 2023 that the singer's lawyers contacted her again to offer her a payment for back wages. However, Edith considered the amount insufficient and decided to make it public.
Despite the controversy, the former employee clarified that she does not wish to start a legal war against the Mexican musician. “I just want a fair settlement,” she expressed. Her intention, she explained, is to be able to afford her medical treatments and live peacefully after having dedicated a large part of her life to the artist's environment.
