Formula 1 asked to 'help' Colapinto recover his best form
The Argentine driver is going through a challenging time at Alpine, and the category itself has urged the team to support him
After the Hungarian Grand Prix, Formula 1 entered its summer break and, at the same time, mid-season analyses began. In this context, Franco Colapinto became a protagonist again, since the category itself published an official report highlighting the need to support him so he can regain the level he showed with Williams.
"The car isn't fast enough, which has left the Enstone team in the last position in the team standings," F1 admitted on its website regarding the poor performance of Alpine.

However, it emphasized that the Argentine could be a key piece for the future: "Beyond 2026, it's also necessary to focus on helping Colapinto overcome a difficult stage in his F1 career. The Argentine demonstrated his ability last season with Williams, but he hasn't reached that level yet with Alpine."
The category even outlined a path of hope: "If they manage to get him performing at his best alongside Gasly, the outlook for the future seems brighter," they remarked.

The challenge looking ahead
The driver from Pilar has a guaranteed seat until the end of the current season, but his continuity beyond that is uncertain. For 2026, there are still eight seats available on the grid, including the one Colapinto would leave open at Alpine. His main challenge will be to earn merit in the ten races remaining this year, the first of which is the Dutch GP at the end of August, in order to convince them that he deserves to remain in the category.
