Formula 1: Franco Colapinto won't be the reserve driver at the Saudi Arabian GP
Despite rumors of a possible presence, the French team reported that Paul Aron will travel with the starters, leaving the Argentine out again
According to ESPN journalist Juan Fossaroli, Franco Colapinto will not be part of the Alpine team in the upcoming Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, corresponding to the fifth round of the Formula 1 World Championship. This is a cold shower for all the Argentine's hopes, as it was expected that after Bahrain he would be the reserve driver for the French team in Arab lands.

"We were informed that Franco will not be here (Bahrain) nor in Saudi Arabia," the sports channel correspondents noted after speaking with official team sources. Additionally, they reported that Paul Aron will return as the reserve driver, just like during next weekend.
"It was thought that Franco would fulfill the role of reserve driver at the circuit in the next race, but since Paul Aron is here, and today he was walking quite a bit with Pierre Gasly, he will fulfill the same role. It's only a two-hour flight from here to Saudi Arabia," Fossaroli explained.

In the first two competitions of the calendar, held in Australia and China, Colapinto had fulfilled the role of the team's substitute driver. Subsequently, in the Japanese Grand Prix, that position was occupied by Ryo Hirakawa, who recently moved to Haas, and now Estonian Paul Aron will assume this role again in Bahrain.
With this confirmation, and if nothing changes, Colapinto could reappear with Alpine only at theMiami Grand Prix, which will be held in the first week of May. For now, he will continue with his simulator practices and testing.
