Formula 1: Checo Pérez's representative was seen in Alpine's motorhome
The Mexican might have a change of plans and set aside Cadillac to join the French team
This weekend the Monaco Grand Prix takes place, corresponding to the eighth date of the 2025 Formula 1 calendar. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc took advantage of his local status to stand out against the McLarens during free practice, and Franco Colapinto completed important laps to gain experience, confidence, and stay away from incidents, a situation off the track captured all the attention in the paddock.
It happens that, parallel to the activities on the circuit, Julian Jakobi, representative of Sergio Checo Pérez, had a meeting with Alpine executives in the team's motorhome. There he had a private conversation with the top management, which reignited rumors about a possible return of the Mexican driver to the top category.

The Mexican, who this year was not part of Formula 1, but was recently with Red Bull, seeks to return to the category as soon as possible, although for that he needs to find a spot in a competitive team. In that context, the meeting with the team that currently has Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto as main drivers only fueled the rumors.
Although the reason for the manager's visit is not entirely clear at the moment, it is speculated that they might have started negotiations to incorporate him into the team, which could interfere with his plans at Cadillac for the next season.

Additionally, despite the concerns this possibility might generate around the Argentine driver, if the Mexican joins the team led by Flavio Briatore, he would replace Gasly. This would be because Colapinto recently arrived with the support of the executive advisor, while the Frenchman intends to change direction in the near future. If this scenario materializes, Alpine could have a purely Latin American duo formed by Colapinto and Checo Pérez.
