Epic Games presents a new season filled with nostalgia, action, and science fiction

The new season of Fortnite, titled Explosive Shock, marks the return of one of the most beloved franchises of the 90s: the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
In this edition, Epic Games is betting on an immersive experience with nostalgic touches and a strong science fiction imprint, by also incorporating characters from the Halo universe. The official launch is scheduled for Thursday, August 7, 2025.
Power Rangers in Fortnite: skins, rewards, and the return of the Megazord
The addition of the Power Rangers is not limited to a simple visual aspect. Players will be able to access skins of the original Rangers, including their iconic suits and accessories. These skins will be available in a special bundle in mid-August.

The battle pass will also include as a featured reward the Green Ranger, Tommy Oliver, one of the most iconic characters of the franchise. As a major new gameplay feature, Fortnite introduces the possibility of transforming into the Megazord, the legendary giant robot. This mechanic will be unlocked starting September 16, by completing exclusive pass missions.
The Halo universe also joins the battle
Another key collaboration for this season is with the Halo saga. Players will be able to use Spartan characters, both male and female, with their classic red and blue armor. These are integrated into the narrative as allies of the Power Rangers in their fight against an alien insect invasion, evoking references to science fiction films like Starship Troopers.
This crossover strategy reinforces Epic Games' focus on turning Fortnite into a platform for cultural convergence, capable of connecting generations and diverse communities.
A trailer without AI and with great reception
The promotional trailer was filmed in live action without artificial intelligence, a decision that was celebrated by the gaming community. In a context where the use of AI generates debates, the choice of real actors was seen as a nod to authenticity and respect for classic products.
