After some complicated races, Franco Colapinto smiled again in Formula 1. With a great performance, the Argentine driver climbed from 19th place on the grid to finish 9th in the British Grand Prix. Once the competition was over, the driver from Pilar expressed he was satisfied with his performance, highlighted that for the first time in a long time luck was on his side, and shared the curious problem he faced in the last laps.
"It was a good race, I think I had a very good race, a good start", Colapinto began analyzing, emphasizing that this time different circumstances played in his favor after several complicated weekends. "Injustice always comes to an end at some point and we have a bit of good luck and a couple of things going our way, so I'm happy", he expressed.
The Alpine driver stressed that the result was a consequence of the performance he showed from the start of the competition. "It was a very good race, starting from 19, I had a very good start, I had very good pace with the medium tires, so I did everything right", he affirmed.
However, he revealed that the end of the race was far from easy due to an unexpected issue with his gear. "Then, the last 20 laps my hair fell down. I couldn't see anything, one eye I couldn't see. I don't know what happened with the hood. One eye was covered", he shared with laughter. That problem even complicated him in some sectors of the British circuit: "The fast corners were a bit tricky for me", he acknowledged and added: "I need to adjust my hair a bit more for the next one, it cut my hair".

Returning to the results obtained in Silverstone, he commented: "It was a good race, I think I'm happy with the points, it was a bit of a damage limitation, considering what the RBs did this weekend, they were very fast. Gabriel (Bortoleto) too". "It was a positive day but there's a lot to improve, we're struggling compared to them. I'm happy with the points, it's a somewhat unexpected result, but I had a good race, start, and first laps", he concluded.
When Colapinto will race again
After scoring points again, the Argentine driver will try to maintain the good streak at the Belgian Grand Prix. The engines at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit will start in two weeks, on Friday, July 17, with the first free practices and will have action until Sunday the 19th, the same day as the final of the 2026 World Cup, although earlier, with the main race. It is worth remembering that in his only appearance at this track last year, the native of Pilar finished 19th.
