The Argentine finished 20th in the last race of the year and completed a season without points, marked by Alpine's lack of performance

The end of the season at the Abu Dhabi GP offered no consolation for Franco Colapinto. Last in the race and last in the championship, the Argentine driver stepped out of the Alpine with a mix of relief and self-criticism after a 2024 that brought more blows than joys.

The French team once again left without points, with both cars at the bottom of the standings. There were no surprises or miracles at the end of the calendar. The A525 was not up to the task from the start, the developments never arrived on time and the team closed one of its worst recent seasons, finishing last in the Constructors' standings.

After a race marked by a lack of pace, Colapinto acknowledged his team's poor 2024, although with some expectation for improvement in 2025: "It was a not very positive year, but well, it's part of the process. I think next year is going to be much better and we've been preparing well for the upcoming season, so I'm eager, eager to start working on that and to forget a bit about what happened this year".

"We have to work a lot, so, nothing, I'll go back to Argentina for about two days and then already focused on the upcoming season to fight and get good results. I want to have a good year, so we have to work for that," he emphasized.

Amid so much adversity, Franco decided to highlight the best of Alpine: the group's effort, even when defeats piled up. "I take away many things from this season, a team that didn't give up, right? Despite the bad results we had. That's very important and I think it prepares us for when things go better," he valued.

With his helmet already put away and the page finally about to turn, Colapinto did not hide his sincerity: "There's still a lot to improve, but nothing... thank God, this year is finally over".
