Franco Colapinto finished a weekend with a bittersweet taste after a Brazilian GP in which, according to his own words, the car "was behaving quite strangely" and the pace was not as expected. After the race, in which he finished 15th, the Argentine driver analyzed what happened with the naturalness and self-criticism that characterize him.
With a smile, Colapinto broke the ice by joking about his teammate Gabriel Bortoleto, who crashed again in the race in his home country: "I had never heard anyone talk so much, he's been talking for five minutes and only completed one lap".
More seriously now, the Argentine referred to his feelings on track and to the strategy that, according to him, did not allow him to make a difference: "We used a strategy very similar to everyone else's and that meant we had no opportunity. I was behind Fernando the entire race and it was very difficult to overtake, so it was a rather boring race. The pace was not bad but it didn't feel like I had good grip or a good balance. In that car, it was behaving quite strangely, so there are things to review".
Looking ahead, Colapinto set his sights on the next event in Las Vegas, where he hopes to regain his feeling and find more performance: "Las Vegas was a weekend where I was fast last year, so I'm looking forward to going there, Alpine was fast too and I hope we have a good weekend there".
He also referred to the slight contact he had with Hamilton at the start of the race: "I didn't even notice, he touched me with his front wing and broke it, a miscalculation". Finally, he closed with some self-criticism: "I did the same as everyone else and that doesn't get you anywhere when you start from the back", he pointed out. However, he made a clarification: "Except if your name is Verstappen and then you might be able to do something, otherwise, no".
