Chainsaw: Frigerio announced the end of IOSPER's debt and deficit in 2025

The governor of Entre Ríos announced that they will settle IOSPER's total debt and eliminate the deficit before the end of the year

The governor of Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio, announced a deep transformation at the Social Security Institute of the Province of Entre Ríos (IOSPER), marking a turning point in the management of the health system for state workers.

According to a message he shared on social media, a critical situation was reversed, which included a debt of more than $40,000 million and a monthly deficit of $3,000 million.

An intervention that put the accounts in order and eliminated privileges

"We received IOSPER on the verge of collapse," Frigerio wrote on his X account, detailing the conditions in which he found the social security institute: obscene salaries, overpriced medications, withheld prostheses, and a structure sustained by privileges. He even mentioned the existence of a $3,000 million debt that was never claimed, which in his view exposes the opaque management of public resources.

The governor assured that, "with the same resources IOSPER has always had," 100% of the debt is being settled. The key factor was the "order and savings" implemented since the intervention ordered by the provincial government. In fact, Frigerio emphasized that the total cost of the intervention is equivalent to the salary of just one month of the previous management.

Objective: close 2025 with balance and transparency

The immediate goal, the governor stated, is for IOSPER to be debt-free, deficit-free, and fiscally balanced before the end of the year.  "Ready to face 2026 with transparency, control, and respect for those who support it with their taxes," he said.

This announcement is part of a broader process of reorganization of the Entre Ríos state. "The effort of all Entre Ríos residents is beginning to bear fruit: a more orderly state, once again providing real answers after years of neglect," Frigerio noted.

Key points of the announcement:

  • $40,000 million was the accumulated debt received at IOSPER.
  • $3,000 million was the monthly deficit with which it operated.
  • Unclaimed debt of $3,000 million, an indicator of administrative mismanagement.
  • The entire intervention cost the same as one month of salaries of the former officials.
  • Commitment to eliminate the deficit and debt before the end of the year.

Frigerio's message aims to consolidate an image of efficient and transparent management, in contrast to what he described as a period of "plundering and corruption". The IOSPER reform, if carried out as announced, will be one of the main milestones of his provincial administration.
