Gianluca Simeone retires from football at 27 years old and already has a new job
Cholo's son has decided to end his career and will focus on a field related to sports and accompany his partner during her pregnancy
Argentine forward Gianluca Simeone, currently a player for Rayo Majadahonda in Spain, has announced his retirement from professional soccer at the age of 27. The son of Atlético de Madrid's coach, Diego Simeone, decided to end his career after playing 15 matches in the most recent season of the Spanish Segunda Federación.
Beyond concluding his time as a footballer, his future will remain linked to sports, as he will dedicate himself to representing footballers. Meanwhile, he will face his new professional stage in parallel with an important personal moment: he is expecting his first child with model and influencer Eva Bargiela.

In this regard, his partner recently highlighted her excellent relationship with Cholo's son in an interview with Caras TV: "Living together is going well, really well. We're learning to live together because until recently he was in Spain and I was here—in Argentina. Our life together was very symbiotic; we were together 24/7 because it was one month together, one month apart. He is very affectionate; he talks to and reads stories to my belly. I hit the jackpot with him".
She also emphasized that Gianluca appeared at a key moment in her life: "I feel that he came into my life to accompany me during a very difficult time and also during a very wonderful one. He was up to the task in both situations and that's not easy. It's not easy to support someone through grief".
His professional career and statistics
Trained in the youth divisions of River, Gianluca took his first professional steps in 2018, when he was loaned to Unión La Calera in Chile. A year later, he made his debut in the Argentine Superliga with Gimnasia La Plata.

After his time with Lobo, he moved to Europe to begin a career in the Spanish lower divisions, where he wore the jerseys of Sant Rafel, Ibiza, Xerez, Tudelano, and finally Rayo Majadahonda, the club with which he played his last season.
In total, Simeone played 149 official matches and scored 42 goals throughout his career. Brother of Giuliano (Atlético de Madrid) and Giovanni (Napoli), his retirement marks an early change of direction, leaving the field behind to begin a new chapter from the offices.
