The national government declared the chapters of the Muslim Brotherhood that operate in Lebanon, Egypt, and Jordan as terrorist organizations, and ordered their inclusion in the Public Registry of Persons and Entities Linked to Acts of Terrorism and Their Financing (RePET). The decision was officially announced this Tuesday by the Office of the President of the Argentine Republic.
The measure is part of the international commitments assumed by the country regarding the fight against terrorism and the financing of extremist activities, and it is adopted in compliance with current national regulations. According to the official statement, the decision is based on official reports that confirm illicit activities of a transnational nature, including acts of terrorism, public calls for violent extremism, and links with other terrorist organizations.

The decision was driven by President Javier Milei and adopted in a coordinated manner among the Foreign Ministry, the National Security Ministry, the Justice Ministry, and the State Intelligence Secretariat. The government emphasized that inclusion in RePET makes it possible to strengthen mechanisms for the prevention, early detection, and sanctioning of terrorism and those who finance it.
