The Garrahan Hospital has incorporated five state-of-the-art centrifuges to renew the equipment in its laboratories, following an investment of over $80 million made by the Government of Javier Milei.

The new devices will strengthen sample processing and improve safety conditions for healthcare personnel.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Health, Mario Lugones, who highlighted the incorporation of the new equipment as part of the technological update process of the institution. "We are building the best pediatric hospital in Latin America," he stated.

The new centrifuges will replace equipment that had already accumulated several years of use and will allow for advancements in technology in line with current quality standards.

These devices are essential for various clinical analyses, as they allow for the separation of blood components and other biological fluids during sample processing.

The renewal is significant due to the volume of work carried out daily in the Garrahan laboratories. According to hospital reports, the centrifuges process between 250 and 300 samples per day.

In this context, the incorporation of the new equipment aims to streamline processes and improve work continuity. Additionally, it will reduce the possibility of errors during processing and reinforce biosecurity conditions within the laboratories.

Equipment to Improve Safety

The five incorporated centrifuges feature assisted balancing systems and automatic locking during operation. These characteristics are designed to decrease the likelihood of errors and provide greater safety for personnel using the equipment.

From Garrahan, it was noted that the update will improve work processes and reduce risks associated with sample processing. The renewal also aims to improve working conditions for the healthcare teams that carry out these tasks daily.

The investment is part of a process of technological modernization carried out by Milei's Government at Garrahan Hospital.

In this framework, Lugones also emphasized the allocation of resources to the hospital and linked the incorporation of technology with efficient management. "When resources are managed efficiently, they return to institutions in technology, works, and equipment," asserted the minister.

With the incorporation of the five new centrifuges, Garrahan aims to strengthen a central part of its laboratory work, where hundreds of samples are processed daily.

The new equipment will support that volume of work with updated devices, while also aiming to reduce errors and improve personnel safety.
