The government of President Javier Milei will implement a special public transport operation for the visit of Pope Leo XIV to Argentina, which will include additional buses and trains, nighttime rail services, and free trips for 24,000 volunteers. The measures were coordinated with the involved jurisdictions, the Argentine Episcopal Conference, and the operating companies, with the aim of facilitating travel during the planned activities.
The national jurisdiction buses will operate with weekday frequencies from Sunday, November 8 at 18:00 until the night of Wednesday, November 11, while the rail services will maintain the same schedule on Monday, November 9, Tuesday, November 10, and Wednesday, November 11, despite the holidays established for those days. This decision will expand the transport offer for the thousands of faithful who will participate in the visit of the Supreme Pontiff.
Milei's team is preparing the operation for transportation during the pope's visit.
The railway lines Sarmiento, San Martín, Mitre, Roca, Belgrano Sur, Belgrano Norte, and Urquiza will have special services from 00:00 on Monday, November 9, and throughout the early morning. There will also be extended hours and reinforcements during the night of Tuesday, November 10, and the early morning of Wednesday, November 11. However, for security reasons, the 3 de Febrero and Lisandro de la Torre stations will remain closed for passenger boarding and alighting from Saturday, November 7 at 18:00 until the start of services on Thursday, November 12.
Additionally, during certain time slots on Monday, November 9, and Tuesday, November 10, the Mitre and San Martín lines will operate with reduced routes, establishing temporary terminals at Belgrano C, Belgrano R, Caseros, and Villa del Parque. The modifications respond to the security and organizational needs of the operation set for the papal visit.
On the other hand, the national government delivered 24,000 SUBE cards to the Argentine Episcopal Conference to ensure free trips for the volunteers designated to assist with the activities. This benefit will allow the use of buses, trains, and subways from Friday, November 6, to Friday, November 13, inclusive. At the same time, a specific bus operation is being worked on to transport approximately 4,000 volunteers from the City of Buenos Aires to Luján on Monday, November 9, and Tuesday, November 10.

At Córdoba International Airport, restrictions will be in effect on Tuesday, November 10, from 7:30 to 9:30 and from 15:55 to 17:55, while at Ezeiza, they will be implemented on Wednesday, November 11, from 13:00 to 15:00.
The airlines have already been notified to make the necessary rescheduling. The authorities recommended checking the status of flights and planning transfers in advance, as well as consulting the official channels of Trenes Argentinos, Ferrovías, Metrovías, and the governments of the City and Province of Buenos Aires to learn about service modifications.
