GTA 6 Online could debut in 2027, according to a statement from the CEO of Twitch, although Rockstar has not yet confirmed the date
Rockstar Games has not officially announced the GTA 6 multiplayer. They also did not detail what will happen with GTA Online or when the PC version will be available.
The multiplayer of GTA 6 could arrive in 2027, according to a statement from Dan Clancy, CEO of Twitch, during an interview with Bloomberg.
The reference to the upcoming year comes from Clancy's comments about the plans of Rockstar Games. However, the studio has not yet confirmed when GTA 6 Online will be available.
During the interview with Bloomberg, Clancy explained that Twitch has maintained frequent contact with Rockstar to learn about their plans and work on involving their creators.
In that context, the CEO of Twitch stated: "We have spent a lot of time talking to Rockstar about their plans and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators. You will see this big surge with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch the multiplayer."
Nonetheless, the statements do not specify whether it will be an independent release, an update for GTA 6, or an evolution of GTA Online.
For that reason, Dan Clancy's comments represent an external statement and not a confirmation of Rockstar's public timeline.
Take-Two issued a statement about the multiplayer mode during its latest shareholders meeting. The company indicated that GTA 6 is a single-player title and that it will continue to support GTA 5 Online after the release of GTA 6 and beyond.
This statement suggests that the GTA 6 multiplayer will not be available alongside the game's launch. The material also indicates that GTA Online could continue to receive updates.
