GTA 6 dominated Netflix: it was the most watched content on the platform

The extended gameplay of GTA 6 became the most viewed video on Netflix within its ranking of English-language films. The presentation reached 31.1 million views and topped the charts in 87 countries.

The presentation of GTA 6 took place on Netflix on August 27 and included 27 minutes of game footage. The content was captured entirely from a PlayStation 5 and delved into the story of Jason and Lucía.

Netflix reported that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look reached 31.1 million views. Additionally, it ranked first in 87 out of 93 countries included in the global tracking.

The presentation was a first for Netflix and allowed for a deeper understanding of the upcoming installment of the saga. All the material shown was recorded directly from the game on PlayStation 5.

The launch of the presentation also had an issue: Netflix experienced an outage on August 27, during the arrival of the content on the platform.

What the extended gameplay of GTA 6 showed

The material presented new scenes featuring Jason and Lucía, as well as different areas of Leónida and supporting characters.

The gameplay showcased shootouts, heists, street races, and various side activities. It also revealed new interactions between the protagonists.

Jason and Lucía will have new interactions

During one scene, Jason can interact with a dog. Among the options are to pet it or study it, and by petting it, he gains karma.

The gameplay also shows Jason and Lucía holding hands when both characters are under the player's control. Additionally, Jason can accept or decline a cigar offered by another character.

GTA 6 will incorporate new combat mechanics and police pursuits

The game features a karma system and new mechanics during confrontations. Jason has a health bar and another linked to a skill similar to Dead Eye from Red Dead Redemption 2.

For this reason, the protagonists will be able to modify these elements to try to lose the wanted stars more quickly.

The vehicles and heists featured in GTA 6

The gameplay showcased new vehicles to traverse the areas of Leónida. Among them are swamp buggies and kayaks for navigating rivers and canals.

A convertible was also shown in which Jason and Lucía can travel while conversing. The material also included electric scooters, although it was not confirmed if the protagonists will be able to use them.

Street races are also part of the activities showcased. The nightlife of Vice City is depicted through scenes in clubs and nightclubs.

Customization, money, and social media in GTA 6

The game will feature an immediate customization wheel to modify the protagonists' clothing. Players will be able to select hats, glasses, and bandanas, as well as save different outfits.

The interface will also display bars for health, energy, and skill. Money will be divided between a joint bank account and the individual cash of each protagonist.

The gameplay also includes random events and social media. In one scene, Jason and Lucía witness a character falling off a bridge while trying to record a selfie video.
