Gustavo Sofovich was involved in a traffic accident early Tuesday morning in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, when the black Citroën DS4 he was driving collided with a motorcycle in the area of Jerónimo Salguero and Martín Coronado. Two young people were on the motorcycle, and a 23-year-old woman had to be taken to Rivadavia Hospital, while the incident prompted a significant deployment of the City Police.
Shortly after the accident, the producer gave his account and questioned some of the versions that began to circulate about what happened. “They are imposing a reality that is not,” Sofovich said in an interview with Radio Mitre while remaining inside his vehicle.
Gustavo Sofovich's version of the crash
Sofovich explained that he had gone out early in the morning to make a purchase and that the impact occurred when he was returning. “I didn’t have yogurt, so I went to the gas station to buy two. When I was coming back, I was on Salguero,” he recounted about the minutes leading up to the accident.
According to his account, the motorcycle tried to overtake him while he was making a maneuver. “A motorcycle passes me on Coronado and tries to pass me on the right. That’s what happened,” the producer stated, while the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
The accident occurred around 5 in the morning and caused injuries to the motorcycle passenger, who was assisted by SAME and taken to Rivadavia Hospital. Sofovich maintained that it was “an accident on public roads that has a process” and stayed at the scene while police procedures were underway.
