The creator of 'Harry Potter' compared transgender people to magic for being unreal.
J.K. Rowling, author of the famous 'Harry Potter' book series, stated that neither magic nor transgender people exist
British writer J.K. Rowling, author of the successful Harry Potter saga, once again found herself at the center of attention on social media after making a viral comment about gender identity.
Everything started after a user asked her to stop commenting on topics unrelated to literature and to stick to writing books. "Shut up and go back to writing books. Nobody cares about your opinion on anything except magic," wrote the user.
Far from avoiding confrontation, Rowling replied with sarcasm: "My opinion on magic is the same as on women with penises: neither is real. However, if you want to prove me wrong, jump off a roof on a broomstick." Her comment caused an immediate wave of reactions on social media both in favor and against, fueling the already persistent debate about her stances toward the trans community.

Some criticism was quick to appear. Users on platforms like X accused Rowling of "transphobia," recalling that this is not the first time her opinions on gender identity have caused discomfort.
For several years, the author has been a polarizing figure due to her constant involvement in debates related to trans rights, arguing that her concerns are focused on protecting the rights of biological women.
Rowling has stated that she is not transphobic, and that her intention is to defend language based on biological sex and preserve safe spaces for women. Nevertheless, her critics point out that the tone of her messages, her insistence on the topic, and her use of mockery or irony reinforce "harmful discourse" toward "trans" and "non-binary" people.
This new episode deepens the rift between Rowling and part of her fan base, many of whom grew up with her books and now reject her stance on gender identity issues. Actor Tom Felton, who portrayed the iconic Draco Malfoy in her films, offered strong support to the author and thanked her for giving him a unique opportunity.
