Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata is going through an extremely delicate situation. The football context, where Diego Flores's continuity at the helm of the team is explained solely by the economic impossibility of negotiating his departure, and the institutional issues fuel a hostile atmosphere in the La Plata team. As a result, in the early hours of this Wednesday, strong messages appeared directed at the club's management.

In front of the headquarters located at the intersection of 4th and 51st streets, posters with harsh criticisms could be seen pasted in different areas. "Stop lying to the members. Out with the Board," read one of them, while another warned: "The chances are over, goodbye Board of Directors."
There were also papers directly targeting president Mariano Cowen, demanding his departure. Cowen took office in December 2022 and, unless there is a change, he will remain in the position until the end of the year. One of the most direct messages said: "Leave Cowen, puppet."

The discontent among the fans, which had already been increasing, has deepened. Although there was a change in the technical direction in this championship (Marcelo Méndez left his position in the second match and was replaced by Diego Flores), the new coach hasn't managed to change the team's reality.
With just two victories, four draws, and five defeats, the Lobo is in 13th place in zone B with 13 points, left out of the play-offs, and occupies the 26th position in both the annual table and the averages, seriously jeopardizing its stay in the First Division.

The management has already decided to end the current coaching staff's cycle after seven matches without victories, but the lack of economic resources to face the contract termination prevents executing that decision.
For this reason, next Sunday at 3:30 PM, when Gimnasia hosts Platense at the Juan Carmelo Zerillo stadium, Flores will remain on the bench. With the heated atmosphere, the fans will likely make their dissatisfaction heard.
