On March 31, the national Government announced the declaration of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, in a decision made official in a statement issued by the Office of the President. The measure involves their incorporation into the Public Registry of Persons and Entities linked to Acts of Terrorism and their Financing (RePET)
.The decision is framed in the historical background that links the Argentine Republic to two of the most serious attacks in its history: the attack on the Israeli Embassy in 1992, which left 29 dead, and the attack on AMIA in 1994, in which 85 people were killed. Both episodes, according to the statement, were carried out by Hezbollah, an organization that acts as the operational arm of the IRGC in the region

The official text maintains that judicial investigations and intelligence work determined that these attacks were planned, financed and executed with the direct participation of senior officials of the Iranian regime and members of the Revolutionary Guard.
