A new horror scene shakes La Plata, in a context marked by insecurity and the deterioration of the social fabric, problems that persist under the management of Axel Kicillof. The discovery of the dead body of a baby inside a university campus once again called into question the capacity of the provincial State to prevent extreme situations that lead to tragedies. The event occurred this Monday at the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the National University of La Plata (UNLP), one of the busiest academic units. The body was found by an employee in an area under construction adjacent to the Agricultural Sciences building, where works were being developed for
new classrooms.Along with the baby, whose age is estimated to be between two and a half months and four months, her birth certificate was found, a key element that allowed for rapid progress in her identification. “It would be two and a half months old,” police sources said. According to the first hypotheses, the minor would have been abandoned over the weekend and could have been alive at that time, which further aggravates the situation and reinforces criticism of the flaws in the containment and social monitoring systems in the province of Buenos Aires under the administration of Axel Kicillof. The autopsy will be decisive in establishing precisely when and how he died
.
The case took a central turn when the discovery was linked to the disappearance of a woman who had been reported by her partner. The man stated that both had come with the baby to the Children's Hospital in La Plata for a medical consultation and that, at one point, he lost sight of them. Based on that complaint, a search operation began, culminating in the appearance of the woman, who was identified as the mother of the minor. This is Camila V.R., 32 years old and Chilean nationality, who was later arrested by the Argentine Federal Police in the area of 1:45, a few meters from the place of discovery
.Before being located, the woman had been seen aboard a bus on line 506. According to her relatives, the driver confirmed that he took her to that area, which reinforces the hypothesis that she was in the immediate vicinity of the faculty. In addition, it was found that the baby had the same clothes she was wearing at the time of her disappearance, a fact that strengthens the line of investigation into possible direct abandonment
in the place. At the same time, it transpired that the woman had a search request valid since Friday, in the context of a cause for ascertaining her whereabouts, and that she would be a psychiatric patient, which once again sets off alarms about state assistance mechanisms in highly vulnerable contexts, a responsibility that falls on the provincial structure led by Axel Kicillof.
