In an unprecedented health crisis in the Province of Buenos Aires, the management of Axel Kicillof has come under scrutiny for its absolute lack of sensitivity and institutional responsibility. The severity of the situation translates into an alarming figure: 814 children are waiting for prosthetics from the Prosthetics Bank of the Province of Buenos Aires to be able to undergo surgery at Garrahan.
This delay, which has persisted since 2022, is not an administrative coincidence, but the result of a system designed for evasion. According to reports, the province resorts to “dissuasion maneuvers to avoid paying the public cost”, avoiding extending written denials and forcing parents to undergo exhausting bureaucratic processes that, in most cases, end up in nothing.

The human impact of this neglect is devastating. The Executive Director of the hospital, Mariano Pirozzo, has been categorical in stating that “we are talking about complex surgeries and patients who cannot wait any longer”. The delay has reached such an extent that “there were patients who, while waiting, reached adulthood and could not be treated within the pediatric hospital”, while others had to be operated on with supplies funded in an emergency by the institution due to life-threatening risks.
“Due to this jurisdictional non-compliance, we are forced to reschedule surgical interventions, with the harm that this implies for the children”, declared Pirozzo.
The economic background of this abandonment reveals the true priorities of the nefarious Kirchnerist government. The debt that Axel Kicillof's administration maintains with Garrahan through the health insurance IOMA amounts to over 6,400,000,000. However, money for other purposes seems to be abundant: during the year 2025, the Province of Buenos Aires squandered the astronomical sum of 58 billion on official advertising.
